no joke, the local classic rock station out here plays Pearl Jam, STP, Alice in Chains, and even once in a blue moon iv heard Linkin Park

The brain is kind of weird. In my mind, classic rock is still reserved for Skynerd, Eagles, acdc, stuff like that because that was classic rock when I was a kid. I don't shift that descriptor to include new music, it just stays the same. Maybe because I wouldn't shift my idea of punk or alt, classic is a genre, not a shifting span of time in the past.
