Re: A day in the life...

Well, this time it's more like "a week in the life"...

Tried to revive a 1957 German Army (Bundeswehr) Enders petrol gas stove - an attic find.
Was able to fire it up and it burned for a while but not very well.
The pump leaked badly and a puddle of gas built up at the bottom of the case so I stopped the attempt.
Some exploration revealed that the gas pump's reed valve does not work properly and most of the
seals are brittle and need to be replaced.

Started to construct the case for the Bug's woofer amp module...

Put the Bug to sleep...

Finally completed the KLEIN project. Shifts perfect now and with new headset bearings, reconditioned bottom
bracket, corrected suspension set up, new handlebar, grips & saddle it rides like a charm.
Despite the bike's "spot on" suspension concept got many bad reviews back in the day I really like it.
It's like two different bikes depending on sitting on the saddle or standing on the pedals.
It needs getting used to (especially downhill) but once you got the hang of it it's fantastic IMHO.
It's not for everybody - like our over steering Bugs... :)

Your bike looks fantastic! What a classy and ingenious design.

Bluto's getting worked on right now. My left thumb has begun failing to be able to shift the front derailleur(I think it's something like skier's thumb, carpal tunnel or arthritis) so I'm converting it from 2x10 to 1x11 so I can ditch the left shifter but keep the granny.

And the scaffolding seems to work just fine for what I need it for. Pulled some home runs to the lower panel for the appliances upstairs.

That's a bummer with your thump! Totally understand your issue...
I'm hag-ridden by fits of rheumatism/gout for almost 20 years now. :?

Never rode a fat bike. I wonder how it handles. It's all about tire inflation I guess.

That scaffolding is quite an assistance.
Completing the upstairs residential area seems like an extensive project.
Is there someone to give you a hand or you work on your own all the time?

I'm very sorry to hear that. The long-lasting issues are the worst.

That's the lion's share of it. I put a cheap Chinese air fork on it but that does little to help. I don't really know anyone else that rides one year round and I can see why they keep it relegated to snow riding.

When Chloe's boyfriend isn't working, he's always quick to help. A lot of the projects are just solo by nature and I like to wear earbuds and listen to music when working so I don't mind at all.

And now for something completely different! My father-in-law gifted me this 87 El Camino. It needs a lot of little things but it's quite the time capsule. I'll share some more info on it as I play with it a bit.

I watched a few of the original when it was airing, I thought it was pretty funny. I don't watch anything other than what my wife wants to watch any more. My visual consumption ends at youtube subscriptions, nowadays.

Found this in the woods while riding. The two white objects are bleached baby turtle shells.

Trying to get back into playing guitar. The hands aren't what they used to be.
