i can't be the only one thinking it would be cooler to drive from the side car just to freak people out seeing a motorcycle riding down the street with no rider.

I did a lot of image searching. If there is a real build thread somewhere, it's been buried by the thousands of Pinterest and blog reposts of the images.

Zippy is a celebrity-by-proxy!
In Feb of 2015, Laurent Dubois said he wanted the fiberglass fenders off of Zippy for a nostalgia project he was working on. Paying the cost for shipping(which was catastrophically expensive), I basically gave them to him with the best of luck on his project.
Today in my Facebook feed, I saw Zippy's fenders again:
In the time it took me to get the pan temporarily fastened together, he build this(FB link, may need account).
