That 2CV is cool... I really like his driving... Very relaxed... :D
But the gearing is a bit of a downer IMHO...
My dad had one of these...
But he didn't race it like these...
Vacation France 1971... :D
Wow, what a fun looking car to drive! Like a mini but a little bit longer.
Is that you and your sister?
Annie is something special.
I've never seen a vehicle so poorly suited for drag racing used so often and with so many predictable results of ending in a turtle pose.

Bears sort of a resemblance...
But the Simca had a rear engine and rear wheel drive. Made it quite different.
IMHO it has more in common with a Bug... Note the jack support at 0:25...
Aspect ratio of the vid is a bit odd...

That's Carolle - my French girlfriend! :D
The British had the Mini, the French the Simca 1000, the Italian the Fiat 500 and the Germans the NSU Prinz...
What a fantastic car. I think I loved the one in the first video the most. It seemed the most simple. That last video surprised me in a lot of ways:
1) I've played so many racing games I knew when to lean for the corners.
2) I love the colors and stripes of the Gulf livery. It's the only livery I know the name of because it's the only one I care about enough to remember. I'd paint all my vehicles that color if I could :)
3) That guy in the yellow right in front of our driver was all over the place!
4) No Beetles. Perhaps a rule or is it just too pedestrian of a choice that nobody is interested to run one?

It's due to the racing series' regulations I guess.

The heavy Bug with its flat four doesn't stand a chance against these small lightweight vehicles I'm afraid...
Well... Without displacement restrictions it's a different story of course.
How odd is it that we're discussing the Beetle's "heavy weight" :)
I loved watching that vid. It's like my version of ASMR. It's like when I used to join MTB races. I knew I was going to come in last before the race started but I was totally cool with it. I was just happy to see it all happen around me :)
PS: I did visit JustKampers.com while watching the video :)
Leave it to this car to make you feel guilty about the opulence and excess of your VW:
I love it!
My neighbor had a "Kleinschnittger". The thing was even parked in our garage for a while...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kleinschnittger
Funny guys in this vid:
Pull start:
No reverse:
Drive past (the first one isn't a Kleinschnittger but a Gogmobil TL):
I watch these a lot. This time, he makes a Herbie with a V8:
there are a few channels dedicated to restoring hot wheels (baremetalHW and WheelsNThangs are the 2 standouts). i get board and watch at work sometimes.
i actually have one of the bugs he's restoring in that video. only mines like a greenish blue and all original.
Well, now I feel terribly guilty:
This was the point at which American car companies realized they made inferior products. Their game plan was to simply guilt the public into buying it:

That "The Bug and the Beetle" vid was posted on TheSamba lately and although quite interesting (and new to me) I didn't dare to post it here... :D
You may already know this feature:
Ever wondered about drummers whining and complaining about their drums and hardware?
Well... Just tidy up and clean out your shed and go for it!
i can't stand techno music, but it's cool cause he's banging on random stuff
Watching this video, I realized my dog sounds like a turbo wastegate when she dreams in her sleep.
Remember kids, crime doesn't pay!
and its apparently still a thing!
