Not just that, the cop is wearing a motorcycle helmet, there's a lot there to make you doubt it's legitimacy :)

Visually unsettling.

Doing a bit more digging, it seems it was a beach patrol for New Smyrna Beach in FL done for like photo ops and meet & greet stuff...
German version based at "Kreispolizeibehörde Wesel" with a likewise ridiculous beacon... :D

I like this one better...

Addendum to the forklift theme...

Nice variation of the Hebmüller theme. Suicide doors would be cherry on the cake!
Did Hebmüller built VW coupes as well?
Spotted this on Flickr: VW Typ 14A Hebmüller Coupé ca. 1949...

I've never seen one. I did a bit of searching and could only find custom examples, nothing documented as from Hebmuller. I'm far from an expert on them though. I've just always thought they looked super cool.

For all of you who are wondering what this car is, its an exact replica of the hebmuller coupe (only 1 prototype was made but got in an accident and was scrapped). This car so well done that the original designer of the original hebmuller thought that it was the car that he made back in the day. The original designer bursted out in tears when he saw the car. I personally have the honor to know the owner of this car. Its a real gem.

That's really one beautiful ride. Shame it never made it to production.

I would drive it :) I think the whole "just cut a space for the tag" mentality is right up my alley.

I hope the occupants made it out of that alive.
be realistic. the passenger side front tire would be in the passengers lap. the dash is probably hitting the seat backs. granted the drivers side faired much better...
i also don't see any blood. it looks like it was hit about 3" to the passenger side of the hood handle. judging by how flat and square the bumper is, im guessing it was ether slammed into the corner of a building, or more likely, was parked and hit by something like a box truck at a high rate of speed.
