New guy.

Thanks for having me.
I've had a variety of air-cooled over the years. After a long pause I aquired a 74 standard beatle.
Looked around a little and like the forum.
Oh, pictures of course!ImageImageImageImage

Re: New guy.

Hey there man and a big welcome to the forum, we're glad to have you!

That's a nice example you picked up. What are your plans for it? Maintain and drive it, work on it as you drive it or is that sucker coming apart? :D

Looking forward to hearing more about it.

Re: New guy.

Will be a rolling restoration.
Came out of the Oregon dessert, a friend found it and wanted a Harley I had a little more.
It's rust free and in fairly good shape I've just got it registered and insured, been doing some tinkering and should have it on the road soon. Someone before me took out the front engine tin so I'll need to drop the motor and replace it.
Basically going to try to get her back to mostly stock condition.

Wow, recouperating from being sick the last few days so lazing around instead of tinkering.
Been looking over the forum so hard I think my eyes are going to fall out.
Especially like the images thread.

Yeah, aside from electronic ignition, wheels and I might mess with the stance, that's about it.
I've got a 2006 Road King that's pushing around twice the stock horse power and torque that I get to wrench on regularly. Have had plenty of other hot rodded stuff. Just getting more simple as I age I guess.

That Bug reminds me of my long gone '76 Mexican Beetle. :)
