While yours is coming together, mine continues to disassemble itself. This time, the Chinese dropper post literally unthreaded itself and shot into the seat tube, causing the seat to just disappear on me. An exciting time resulted.

Man, that's a bummer - hopefully you didn't crash! :(
These drop posts are handy but for some reason they give me the creeps.
And the trustworthy ones are $$$...

It was quite a crash and sadly I don't bounce right back like I did just a few years ago. No permanent damage and so far, no resulting hospital visits. I need to slow down a bit until I get back into the swing of things. When I get tired, my riding gets sloppy and that's proven quite dangerous to my mobility. I lucked out this time as I think I just bruised a lot of stuff internally but nothing broken.

I'll totally wear a rainbow sleeveless shirt and assless chaps when riding with one.

In all seriousness, it makes it possible for me to keep riding. I can no longer rotate my head to look up which is awfully necessary when riding. Dropping the post makes it possible to see further down the trail. When I know it's flat and straight for a while, I raise it and just stare at the tire while pedaling.
