Tried to revive a 1957 German Army (Bundeswehr) Enders petrol gas stove - an attic find.
Was able to fire it up and it burned for a while but not very well.
The pump leaked badly and a puddle of gas built up at the bottom of the case so I stopped the attempt.
Some exploration revealed that the gas pump's reed valve does not work properly and most of the
seals are brittle and need to be replaced.
Started to construct the case for the Bug's woofer amp module...
Put the Bug to sleep...
Finally completed the KLEIN project. Shifts perfect now and with new headset bearings, reconditioned bottom
bracket, corrected suspension set up, new handlebar, grips & saddle it rides like a charm.
Despite the bike's "spot on" suspension concept got many bad reviews back in the day I really like it.
It's like two different bikes depending on sitting on the saddle or standing on the pedals.
It needs getting used to (especially downhill) but once you got the hang of it it's fantastic IMHO.
It's not for everybody - like our over steering Bugs...
